French writer, analyst and lecturer, Capucine Lemaire is the founder of the international NGO Disability Policy Observatory , director of disability museum draft The Sixth Continent and editorial board member of the Neurodiversity Review in Montreal University (Canada). "We are not born disabled, we become disabled by an environment that denies us." « Committed for ten years, to gender equality first for which I interviewed Hillary Clinton in 2016 for magazine « Women Side » which I directed from 2014 to 2018, and then with the Jean Jaurès Foundation (France) in 2019 about Holocaust memory, I now work next the UN, the WHO and the European Parliament to innovate at the legislative level for independent life of people with disabilities and against their segregation thanks to DPO, a NGO I founded in 2021. I am a consultant for companies and organisations. I am also a member of the editorial board of the Neurodiversity Review of Montreal University. I lead : • Hephaistos, centre and its review about international disability studies (now created) • The Sixth Continent, a disability museum draft, and its podcast (automn 2024) As author and art historian I contribute to reviews, newspapers in the world and collective books, about independant living, education, sexuality and more. My work as researcher is about "art and education inclusion", and "anti ableism as anthropological struggle and fight against segregation". I also contribute to research groups as International Council of Museums (ICOM) and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in France. » capucinelemaire.com
